In this gallery I have recent digital figurative paintings. Most paintings started with pencil sketches done either from the model or from my imagination. The sketches were then scanned into the computer. I have mostly used Adobe PhotoShop to continue building the painting from my imagination. The influence of traditional media; chalk, pastel and oil paint, is apparent. I find that digital painting is more painterly than paint. I'm allowed to rework as much as I like. The "paint" can be "wet" or "dry" , opaque or transparent. I can save various states along the way. These states can then be developed along different lines, like branches and leaves on a tree. By saving earlier states it is possible to take more chances since it's not going to ruin the original. Bad days are just deleted.
